WHAT DOES A VOLUNTEER DO?
As a Volunteer, you could be helping out in one of the following areas:
+ Event Greeters
+ Toboggan Zone
+ Curling Zone
+ Skating Rink
+ Sustainability Zone
+ General Event Volunteer
+ Volunteer Area
+ Information Booth
+ Craft Area Volunteer
+ Exit Survey / Marketing Analysis
HOW DO I BECOME A VOLUNTEER?
Step 1 - Complete the Volunteer Application Form and send it in. You can email it to jmonk@surrey.ca , fax it to 604.502.6315, or mail it to Community Development Services, #111-10277-135th Street, Surrey, BC, V3T 4C3
Step 2 - Complete the Criminal Record Check Form and take it to the Surrey RCMP detachment (located by City Hall). Please note that a criminal record check takes two weeks to process and is valid for a one year period.
Step 3 - You will receive confirmation from the Volunteer Resource Centre within 3 business days.
Step 4 - Attend an one hour Volunteer Orientation Meeting (Tuesday, Feb 3, 5:30pm) at Surrey Council Chambers at City Hall. Please arrive 15 minutes early for check in.
Please note that volunteers must be at least 14 years of age and required to submit a police background check before being approved.
